Although media has matured a great deal over the millenia, television has remained a staple for the edification and entertainment of many. It is a cheap, efficient way of getting media to vast numbers of people at once; it lacks the glamour of a holocabana or the efficiency of a cranial beaming, but practically everyone on a civilized planet owns a television. Television shows are discreet nuggets of programming, typically broken up into half-hour to hour blocks, which serve as ways to entertain or inform, bound together by the sinews of commercials.
